Hello families! I am a career nanny seeking to match with a family in need of childcare. I grew up in Livermore, CA, and moved to San Francisco in 2018. I have two decades of experience as an early childhood educator and transitioned to nannying in 2019. Planning and attending age-appropriate activities is essential for a child's social and emotional development.
Also, I always encourage the bond between child and parents throughout the day and help parents shape healthy secure boundaries with their child. Strongly believe in the importance of giving children the tools to self-regulate and tools to shape a successful new future generation. I believe... that all children deserve to feel safe and supported by their caregivers. To be treated with the utmost respect and be shown they can achieve the confidence to be their best self. Approaching new experiences with positive curiosity and the freedom to explore. I seek to create a supportive environment where I can demonstrate genuine care, actively listen to their individual needs, encourage asking questions, celebrate milestones, provide positive feedback, and most importantly offer emotional support when needed. All children in my care will feel secure and thrive; emotionally, academically, and socially. In my experience, a nurturing approach to being a nanny, essentially, fosters a sense of belonging and confidence in the children’s lives I have impacted.
I believe... in the importance of proactively creating daily routines to help children establish healthy expectations and trust in their caregiver. I am a firm believer that children thrive in environments where consistency in their adults and schedules are maintained. It is my responsibility to help transition the child by respectfully using gentle verbal cues and actively listening to the child through verbal and nonverbal communication. Using positive reinforcement as one of my many tools is crucial to the development of the child. After two decades of working with newborns through school age, I have come to appreciate the practice of patiently focusing on getting to know the child thoroughly. Once I become familiar with the cues and behaviors of the child, I prioritize maintaining a calm and positive demeanor, even during challenging situations. This helps children with feeling heard while also overcoming obstacles smoothly and efficiently. Overall, I believe that consistency between family and caregivers is key to building good habits and promoting healthy development.
I believe... in the importance of collaboration between parents and caregivers. Communication between parents and caregiver is essential, as it is the foundation for a strong, trusting relationship that ensures the best possible care for the child; clear and open communication allows for consistent parenting, addressing any concerns promptly, and working together to support the child's development and well-being. In my years as a caregiver, I feel parents are the key resource to developing strong bonds with children and setting clear narratives and expectations.
WHY DO YOU WANT TO BE A NANNY?
I feel fortunate to have found a career that enables me to showcase my best self. My decades+ of experience is invaluable and something I am proud of. Children bring out the inner child in me which I enjoy; playing outside, exploring nature, coloring, dancing, and crafting. I get to share and explore my knowledge with children around me and see that glow in their eyes. I adore building everlasting bonds with little ones. Every child is so special in their own way and I get to see them learn and grow with every milestone reached. I seek to understand them even on days when they feel down and blue, being a sense of comfort to them means everything to me.
Being a nanny requires the ability to wear many hats; nurse, teacher, cook, playmate, therapist, chauffeur, cheerleader, and most importantly, best friend. This position allows me to bring my years of knowledge as an early childhood educator and caregiver and give families optimal support. I pride myself on being proactive in the household and seeking to give a hand when possible. Most importantly, the intimate setting of being one-on-one with the child is unmatched. In my experience, nannies give their unconditional love and attention to the children and families in their care. Building trust and integrity with my family is a priority. I believe it is a privilege to be in a position to take on such a monumental role in a family unit.
