Our Peony family is a close-knit family of 4 who lives in the adorable neighborhood of Alameda. They have two sweet girls who are 9 & 7 years old and are looking for a wonderful caregiver to join their tribe!
About the Role:
This position requires a candidate who enjoys and has previous experience working with school-age children. They need a candidate who is reliable but also warm and engaging to capture the kiddo’s attention. Their family is looking for light assistance around the children’s care including keeping the household tidy. The children’s needs include picking them up from school, bringing them to afterschool activities, homework help, tidying living spaces, and light meal prep. The position requires a candidate from 2 pm - 6 pm although they would love a date night each week if a candidate is willing to stay a few extra hours.

A fun-loving, engaging, and reliable nanny who will help make each day enjoyable and run smoothly. Comfort with driving is essential, as the girls’ school is located in Oakland, about a 20-minute commute from the home. Mom and Dad are looking for someone who is warm, nurturing, and able to build a strong, positive connection with their children. Ideal candidates will have experience caring for school-age children and enjoy helping maintain the flow of a busy household while ensuring the girls' routines stay consistent. Qualifications:
Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and proof of insurance are required (booster seat provided)
Experience working with children, especially those who need support with self-regulation and executive function skills
Comfortable with light housekeeping duties, particularly related to Vaughn’s needs
Ability to stay calm and patient in moments of frustration or tantrums
Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with a busy, hybrid-working parent
CPR certification (or willingness to obtain)
A love for outdoor activities and fun, educational play
Qualifications:
Experience with children on the autism spectrum is preferred
Previous experience with school-age children
Ability to engage in creative play and provide a structured, nurturing environment
Comfortable with cooking for our son and, ideally, the family
Willingness to take our son to appointments, therapy, and outings (museums, parks, etc.)
Calm, patient, and proactive demeanor
Valid driver’s license and ability to use our family car
Comfortable with light housekeeping related to the child (laundry, meal prep, tidying up)
Responsibilities:
Create a nurturing and positive environment for our children, encouraging their development through outdoor activities, creative play, and interactive imagination.
Manage the daily schedule, including pick-ups, ensuring they are punctual and well-prepared.
Assist with light organization and tidying of the children's surroundings.
Establish and maintain good boundaries with the children, fostering a nurturing and loving atmosphere.
Recent, long-term experience working with infants with a background in child development.
Excellent communication skills, emotional intelligence, and the ability to adapt to the family’s environment.
A spotless driving record. Family car provided.
To ensure the success of our nanny position, we have established the following requirements:
A minimum of 3-5 years of recent, professional experience in childcare.
Strong English communication skills, both verbal and written.
Impressive references from past employers, demonstrating reliability, professionalism, and exceptional childcare skills.
Able to make a long-term commitment for a minimum of 3 years.
Willingness to undergo two background checks, namely Trustline and Nanny Verify, ensuring the safety and security of our children.
Valid U.S. citizenship or work authorization.
Possession of a valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
CPR certification (if applicable).
Current vaccinations, including flu, Tdap, and proof of Covid-19 vaccination and boosters.
