Meet Our Gardenia Family!
About the Family
This warm and active family of four lives in Balboa Terrace with their two curious and creative children, ages 4 and 7. Both kids attend school within walking distance, with their son in 1st grade and daughter in preschool. The family thrives on outdoor adventures, weekends spent hiking, biking, and exploring, and they prioritize sleep, clean eating, and a calm, nurturing home environment. Their parenting style centers around empathy and understanding the root cause of behaviors, using calm corners and collaborative problem-solving rather than punishment. With mom managing Crohn’s disease, she’s looking for a true partner in the home—someone who can anticipate needs and bring positive energy and consistency to their daily lives. The family travels often (passports required!) and values teamwork, open communication, and a proactive mindset.
The Ideal Candidate
This position is perfect for a Family Assistant who is confident, communicative, and naturally takes initiative. The ideal candidate will be warm, empathetic, and ready to step in as a true partner—supporting both the parents and children with compassion and professionalism. A “second mom” energy is ideal—someone who can manage household tasks seamlessly, help the kids thrive emotionally and socially and be an enthusiastic teammate in day-to-day life. If you love to travel, enjoy being outside, value holistic living, and have a calm, solutions-focused approach to working with children and families—this could be your dream job!
