THEIR GENUINE NANNY
Meet Our Lotus Family!
About the Family:
This warm and vibrant family of four is excited to welcome a nurturing and engaged nanny into their home. Our devoted two-dad household has built a loving, well-balanced, and community-centered family life in Ross. Their children are full of personality—their son is an active, intellectually curious 3-year-old who loves music, dancing, soccer, and gymnastics, while their newborn is already showing signs of strength and determination, eagerly taking on tummy time!
The family values kindness, respect, diversity, and personal growth, prioritizing a mix of structure and free-range exploration for their children. With one dad recently stepping away from work and the other dad on paternity leave, they are hands-on parents who also embrace collaboration and shared caregiving. They are seeking a nanny who will seamlessly blend into their family dynamic—someone proactive, engaged, and genuinely excited to contribute to their children’s development.
The Ideal Candidate:
The perfect fit for this role is a curious, proactive, and active nanny who naturally integrates into the family’s rhythm. Someone who is hands-on, playful yet grounded, and eager to create a stimulating, warm, and safe environment for the children. A love for music, creativity, and physical activity would be a great asset, as Knox thrives on movement and artistic expression.
This family appreciates evidence-based, developmental approaches to caregiving and would love a nanny with a background in childhood education or psychology. They are drawn to Danish parenting philosophies and the teachings of Dr. Becky Kennedy (Deeply Feeling Kids), prioritizing emotional intelligence, resilience, and positive reinforcement in their parenting style. The right nanny will not only care for the children but bring fresh ideas, encourage learning, and serve as an active role model, especially in areas like sports and social development.
Responsibilities:
Provide engaged, nurturing care for their newborn and occasional care for their 3-year-old
Facilitate developmentally appropriate activities for both children
Encourage music, creativity, and active play in daily routines
Assist with preschool pick-ups as needed
Maintain a safe and structured environment, supporting the family’s approach to child development
Be proactive in household tasks related to the children (bottle cleaning, laundry, tidying play areas, organizing supplies)
Support emotional growth and social skills using positive reinforcement techniques
Collaborate with parents while also demonstrating independent initiative
Respect household rhythms and routines while adapting to changing needs
Requirements:
Newborn and toddler experience with a deep understanding of developmental stages
A calm, patient, and intuitive caregiving style
Strong communication skills—able to assess when to engage and when to give space
Proactive mindset—willing to take initiative and help in meaningful ways
Athletic or physically active (ideal for keeping up with Knox’s energy!)
Background in early childhood education or psychology (preferred but not required)
CPR/First Aid certified (or willingness to obtain)
Local to Marin County preferred for easy commute
Must-Have Requirements:
A minimum of 3-5 years of recent, professional experience in childcare.
Strong English communication skills, both verbal and written.
Impressive references from past employers, demonstrating reliability, professionalism, and exceptional childcare skills.
Able to make a long-term commitment for a minimum of 3 years.
Willingness to undergo two background checks, namely Trustline and Nanny Verify, ensuring the safety and security of our children.
Valid U.S. citizenship or work authorization.
Possession of a valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
CPR certification (if applicable).
